DEMS CALL GRID SECURITY 'SCARY' — CALIFORNIA STILL CAN'T KEEP THE LIGHTS ON

Within hours of the President's grid emergency, the usual accounts were calling it authoritarian, xenophobic, and — our personal favorite — 'anti-science.' These are the same people who spent a decade applauding when California asked citizens to stop charging their cars during a heat wave. Science, apparently, is when the app tells you to sit in the dark.

Let us speak plainly. If your theory of the future is electric everything, you do not import the nervous system of the grid from countries that do not like you. That is not xenophobia. That is not plugging a toaster into a rival's outlet and calling it diversity.

The left's energy file has been a greatest-hits album of lectures: close the plants, ban the pipelines, subsidize the slideshow, then act stunned when the bill arrives and the morgue gets warm in a blackout. They wanted to run a continental economy on vibes and a prayer to the wind. The President wants to run it on steel, gas, nuclear, and a locked front door.
